zehner
Hi, I've got a Mitusbishi Triton Plus (manual) and recently I've noticed a lot of vibration noise from the back end. It happens when the truck is at low RPM in first and (especially) second gear. I do have a carryboy sport lid on the back but I don't think that this is the problem as it shuts solidly and has rubber lining all round. If I slip the gearstick into neurtal the noise goes away immediately. I found a site that mentions "torsional harmonic vibration" : http://www.dynadroitclutches.com/vibration_damper.html but am not really clear on what's going on. Should I take it back to the service centre and get them to check it out or is there a quick fix I'm unaware of? Thanks.
garyh
Check the universal joints on your tail shaft, there should be no free play in them. They can sometimes do that, also check that nothing has hit the tail shaft and bent it.
