Baaksida
I'm about to change jobs. I don't have a job offer yet. Which visa, after my current employment contract expires, can I use to apply for a new job in Thailand - a Tourist visa or Visa on Arrival (I live near the border.)? Axel
Go for a tourist visa, which gives you a chance to change your status although such is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer. Btw, Visa on arrival? Such are only granted to p/p-holders of specific countries incl. the following 14: 1. Bhutan : Kingdom of Bhutan 2. China : People’s Republic of China (including Taiwan) 3. Cyprus : Republic of Cyprus 4. Czech : Czech Republic 5. Hungary : Republic of Hungary 6. India : Republic of India 7. Kazakhstan : Republic of Kazakhstan 8. Maldives : Republic of Maldives 9. Mauritius : Republic of Mauritius 10. Oman : Sultanate of Oman 11. Poland : Republic of Poland 12. Russian Federation 13. Saudi Arabia : Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 14. Ukraine When entering on such visa you CANNOT ask for an extention of stay (unless due to sickness) If you qualify for an entry as tourist under the visa exemption scheme you can stay for 30 days plus an evtl. extension by 10, than must leave. Change of status is usually not possible.
