Not an entry in the challenge but I would like to share this shot of 'Clouds' I took recently for the HDR challenge that is also underway.

Not an entry in the challenge but I would like to share this shot of 'Clouds' I took recently for the HDR challenge that is also underway.

its seems like ones photoshop skills are more important than the photography skills.

You can't separate photography from Photoshop these days. Photoshop redefined what a photographer can achieve.

There are some very nice photos in the challenge. Taking remarkable photos is mostly a case of being in the right place at the right time with a camera in your hand. You've also got to recognize what makes a good picture in the first place, and when you see it be sure to take the time for a photo. I take thousands of photos every year, but many are only for reference purposes only... ie, photos of my garden, photos of flowers, photos of my fishing trips and photos of children and friends I know. Occasionally one of those will be a thing of beauty, but most are just good for personal reasons. Because I also paint and draw I'm always taking pictures that MIGHT be a good subject for a piece of art work.
