Pm: There Will Be No Deflation

The country does not face economic deflation even though the Ministry of Commerce had reported a negative inflation rate for six consecutive months, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Thursday.

Mr Abhisit said once the government puts its 800 billion baht investment stimulus plan into effect the money will circulate through the system creating jobs and there would therefore �be no deflation.

The current low inflation rate would open more room for the state's monetary policy.
