The Maxnet Blues

Featured Replies

I've just spent several frustrating hours with 404 errors when I could not reach a single web site - even within Thailand. Eventually, I had a hunch that MaxNet might be blocking my Open DNS settings, so I went in and changed them back to MaxNet's DNS and BINGO - I was back online :)

If their DNS servers were half decent, I wouldn't have to bother with Open DNS, but as any MaxNet user knows - they are <deleted>.

Is there no end to the lunacy of this company ?

I pay 1200 baht a month and did get a good service! last 2 weeks its been crap..Only getting about 12 kps...Talked to maxnet in their shop and they say they are doing something to improve the service for everyone but will take 2 more weeks..It was ok before!!!Asked for a refund as its not working well..That did not compute!!

I also just found the OpenDNS servers to currently be worthless on MaxNet. I can't say "blocked," for sure, since I can ping 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. If I can ping them, then they're not blocked are they? <head spinning>

Anyway, right now I have 208.67.222.222 as my primary DNS server and the IP address of my modem/router as the secondary DNS server (I don't have OpenDNS in my modem/router settings any more) with the hope that if OpenDNS becomes usable again, I will be taking advantage of it again.

For the record, what are TT&T's DNS server addresses?

They're we go Dave ....2 weeks ..that's the magic number.

Forget yer DNS's ...

Stop messing around with it
