Assuming you use Windows XP you can add the built-in Windows Fax Service

- control panel - add/remove programs ---> add/remove Windows components --->Fax Services

of course you need a modem... and will be charged by the phone carrier. If you send within Thailand it cost you almost nothing.

Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate also have a native fax service. I'm hoping Windows 7 Pro will, as well.

It's the main reason I bought Vista Business instead of Home Premium.

There is a fax service that is called Pamfax and it can be linked to Skype. Not free but small fees

Pamfax

I have been using Pamfax too - very reasonable prices, but you need a paid for Skype account. Which is easy enough, just put $10 in your account. Def. cheaper for international faxes, probably not for domestic.

I went to the page...definitely seems almost too good to be true. I noticed the website said it was sponsored by advertising, but it's Terms of Use did give many details. I wonder if whoever you send the fax to also starts getting spam fax sent to them. Anyone had any experience with using freepopfax.com...I mean for at least several faxes/several months? Pros? Cons?

Been using popfax the only downside is the sent fax has advertising on it, but hey watta ya expect fa 3.

I only use it to send faxes to my bank in the UK so dont really care if they get spam fax, in fact i hope they do well done popfax :)

Used this often using "skype out credit" then it all went tits up and PAMFAX told me I have to buy PAMFAX credit as Skype is not prepared to fix linked charge software issues. Good service though works well....not expensive.

As this seems to be store and forward with no security would not even consider sending bank information on it. :)
