Thai Id Card For Son

Featured Replies

Our son turned 15 last week and went with my wife to our local Khet (BKK - Tungkruh) to get an ID card for him.

Docs required (original and copy!):

Birth Certificate

House registration (Tabien Bahn)

ID card of mother

AND because father (me) is foreigner they also needed my PP!! No problem since my wife had it with her in anticipation.

The whole process took 20 minutes and our son has now his first 'smart ID card'

Costs: None

You have to admire how they do things here for Thais (ID, House registration, PP, DL etc.). Very efficient, fast and cheap.

I don't think we would find this kind of service in the West (certainly not Germany).

Now let's hope they will extend this kind of service to foreigner's visa requirements as well.

hmmm but why I had to pay for ... 20 baht? and it is not the smart ID.

and have to deal with those officers being a55es

not everywhere in Thailand you can get good services...

If only the Land Dept. and the following banks could follow suit.

Krung Thai

Thai Military

Omsin

In no particular order. All dinosaurs, but unfortunately a lot of old school folks still have their generations of savings backed up in there so a necessary dinosaur.

:)
