Arrested For Making False Report

The Pattaya Police Station recently had a visit from Mrs. Thawin Puangkham, aged 35,

who had a very sad story of being robbed by two Tai men to report.

She explained that she had been to the bank and withdrawn 200,000 baht, money her foreign boyfriend had sent to her to pay for their wedding. She left her house, on her motorcycle, collected the money from the bank, and then collected a further 40,000 baht from the Bank of Ayutthaya on South Pattaya Road, to pay to the JJ Pub and Karaoke Bar.

As she was driving to the bar, two Thai men forced her to stop her bike and pulling a knife on her, forced her to sit between them whilst they drove her to a deserted area near Soi Boonsamphan temple. Here they searched her and stole the 240,000 baht she had to pay for the wedding.

Here is where her sad story started to fall apart, as police questioned her, she could not repeat the same story twice, and all the details of the robbery were changing on a minute by minute basis. After being caught out in her lies, she eventually confessed that she had not after all been robbed. The truth was that she had spent the money on a Thai boyfriend who works in a karaoke bar, she wanted the police robbery report to show her foreign boyfriend, to account for the missing funds, she obviously could not tell him the truth.

Instead of getting a police report that would get her off the hook with the foreign boyfriend, Mrs. Thawin, was arrested and locked up for making a false report. As the old saying goes, ‘be sure your sins will find you out’!!
