July 20, 200916 yr Hi Everyone... Im going round in circles trying to find which visa We need, I am in the process of Marrying my Thai GF and would ideally like to bring her to the UK after we get married for a visit / holiday and meet my family, She would also like to find some work / part time work while we are in the UK as I will be working a lot of the time, she has her own business in Thailand but can leave for 3 to 6 months with out too much of a problem, I dont believe we need a settlement visa as we dont plan on staying in the UK Long term but cannot find out if she would be able to look for work if we asked for a visit family visa, we will be staying with family while in the UK and my family will help sponsor / support her while we are in UK. Thanks in advance to anyone who can steer me in the right direction. Mike
July 20, 200916 yr hi, she will not be able to work , well legally on a visit visa, no recourse to public funds either, i think you would need to start the whole process of a settlement visa, look on this board for settlement visa waiting times, its a joke, if and when she gets a visa, she will need to then apply for a national insurance number.
July 20, 200916 yr This is the third thread you have asked this question in. As said to you here:- She should apply for the visa applicable to her intentions. If her intention is to just visit for 3 months then she should apply for a visit visa. But:- If she comes as a visitor she cannot work. The maximum she can spend in the UK as a visitor at any one time is 6 months. To work in the UK she would need either a work permit or a spouse visa. Please do not post the same question in multiple threads; it wont get you any more responses! Edited July 20, 200916 yr by 7by7
