I've seen members displayed as "Banned" who still post, but have less than 500 posts so they couldn't have set it themselves. What going on there?

Are you sure?

I was under the impression that you can only change it after you have made 500 posts, although you can have the display Banned if you prefer, but only set it yourself after 500.

If you saw 'Banned' before 500 then I would assume it had been set by Admin and they indeed had no further posts to add, or you actually saw Banned and they had more than 500 and had set it themselves.

Most likely, the post was made before the member was banned but the post was not deleted.
