Mostly true, there used to be beef but Modi really cracked down on it with his religious thugs. There is almost no pork. If you need to eat Western food, stay home. I would say the same about Thailand as well. Western stuff is expensive and not very good. They do not have much proper anti-perspirant and the deodorants are just poor perfume. The people smell, especially in confined spaces like planes. Everything works on the me first principle. Traffic, housing, shopping, everything. If they have an opportunity to take advantage of someone, they will, ruthlessly. It is OK to litter in public while keeping an immaculate home. -

Their lives aren't miserable per se, they just have mental problems and think that moving to Thailand can solve them. Unfortunately, they tend to bring their problems with them and the novelty wears off after a while. Then, they generally have to troll other people in order to chase that feeling of specialness that they got when they first arrived. Many kind of have their self-esteem attached to their perception of Thailand. They view Thailand and Thai people as being superior, and they are then able to feel superior by extension through being in Thailand and claiming to be "more Thai" than other forefingers. In terms of behaviour, this means they end up hating other foreigners whilst claiming that all Thais are perfect. They'll even go as far as saying that if a foreigner does something negative, but a Thai does the same, the foreigner is bad for doing it, while it is fine for the Thai to do the same. Total delusion. The real kicker, is that they will claim to be happy, when their behaviour suggest the complete opposite. -

You're very racist and make angry negative comments. Of course people are going to disagree with you, which you then fly into a rage over. 🙄 Says the guy always bitching and moaning about other foreigners, and then attacks them when he gets corrected. 🤦♂️ This would be funny if it wasn't so sad. -

Masks - Why still now?
Quite telling that there is no reply from the “health professional” caught pushing mis/disinformation. It’s shameful. The myth will continue. Amazing how dishonest people are. The only people I knew wearing masks in my 14 years here were women who just had a nose job. Lived in Chiang Mai for almost 5 years. Not one Thai that I knew ever wore one….even during the burning season. -

Some of what you say Pompolo is reasonably accurate but there are a couple of items that I have had a different experience of. There is beef, although widley unavailable in many areas, there is a steak house retaurant just up the road from the office I was attached to in Mumbai. Yes, they like to stare at the white people although I found the more curious were in the rural areas. Most city folks don't get too excited. I found English was not a problem, across the country however, in the Oil and Gas industry most people I dealt with were educated and English is taught in schools. Again, in the more rural areas where education was not so much of a priority, English was not so common. Definitley rates up there in the dirty countries index. It is not so much that cows have the right of way, It is because they are considered sacred and you get fined if you run into one in your vehicle. I guess that is right of way in a sense. Either no deoderant or some tend to shower in it. Again, most educated people have a reasonable sense of hygeine. Yep, no holding back, mostly from the homeless, having a squat beside the road. Not sure which southern areas you are talking about but the likes of Goa are still fairly liberal as far as clothing etc. goes. The slum areas of Mumbai, which, if you are flying in during the day you can see stretching for miles, definitely smell of sewerage and if you are in the city during the monsoon season expect to gag whenever you walk out of your hotel. Vile, putrid, smells like death. Many beautiful and believe it or not, clean and pristine areas to be found but you have to go way off the beaten track to find them.- 1
