July 23, 200916 yr Can't find Thai food restaurant in BKK? You must joking! Yes, I can;t believe it. But everytime I went to BKK, I can't seem to find a decent priced Authentic Thai food restaurant. Five times I've been to BKK, five times I've ate at the same restaurant Thamnanthai near Nana BTS. Can anyone recommend some good restaurant that serves authentic Thai food without chopping the customer like a carrot Kap khoon khrap

Can anyone recommend some good restaurant that serves authentic Thai food without chopping the customer like a carrot Kap khoon khrap Most people don't realise it (or even believe it), but decent, proper Thai food isn't available in Thailand. It's much better in LA, NY, London, Auckland, Sidney, etc. In fact, anywhere but here. You can prove this by searching Thai Visa (you won't find a single thread about Thai restaurants, food stalls, etc.), looking in any guide book, or searching the whole Internet. Personally, I hate the muck and will stick to the superb (and more traditional) Thai food like meat pies, steaks, pizza and the good Colonel's excellent fried chicken. Yummy.
July 25, 200916 yr MarkBKK --- > Traveller76 - try some food stalls and street vendors. See where the locals are eating...good stuff and cheaper than going to restaurants. Also checkout a few outdoor markets. They always sell prepared Thai food...
July 28, 200916 yr I have always used the Nancy Chandler map of Bangkok to advise me...............the accompanying booklet lists shed loads of restaurants http://www.nancychandler.net/product.asp?pId=11
July 30, 200916 yr There are things to eat there but I agree with you sabaijai...go elsewhere for food
August 12, 200916 yr Hello, the noodle carts and other street food is a good place to start for real Thai food. The food courts in the malls are good for a variety of Thai food, and it will not cost much. Cheers.
