Here's a little sound sample I just made (going completely off of my -now a bit faded- memory of what I recall the songs chorus sounding like.):

careerbuilder.com/monk-e-mail/?mId=31096534.2

(copy and paste into browser search bar with www. in front, for some reason it's not letting me post a url link?)

(Ignore the silly monkey thing - it's the only site I know of that lets people send small audio samples in link form like that.)

A bit more background description on the song to help with a possible ID:

I was in Sangklaburi ( North of Kanchanaburi - close to the Burmese border) for 3 months back at the start of 2008.

While I was staying there, I kept hearing this song played and sung by a lot of the locals in the area (mostly the younger kids.) I even saw a little kids concert type thing that was put on at a Burmese refugee childrens home I visited/ helped out with, and one of the songs covered by the kids was the song I'm trying to find the name of.

From what I could gather from the little song and dance and dress-up routine put on by the group of kids (around 4 little girls and 4 little boys all singing it at once) it seemed to be a typical "Young couple quarreling" type of Thai pop song, with a female singer (the girlfriend) singing her parts and a guy (the boyfriend) singing his parts.

The song seemed to be more playful in tone from what I could tell (when the kids were acting out the lyrics, the little girls would shake their fingers in the faces of the little boys in a sassy but humorous sort of way during some parts of the song.) I can't remember exactly if, in the official recording of the song, there were actually a bunch of female background vocalists that would repeat the chorus along with the female lead as she sung it - or if that was just me thinking that because the little girls all sang the female portion of the chorus at once when they were doing their little show?

Anyway, I hope my little sample isn't too far off from what the song actually sounds like - and is enough to trigger the song ID aptitude in at least a few people out there. It's been nagging on me for the last year or so to find the name and hopefully the music video for that song, as well, if it exists.

I'll take a stab at it.

I think it is the Theme song to a movie called "Hello Yasothorn" (a favorite Isaan Musical/Comedy of mine)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yam_Yasothon

The song closes the film and is in a music video style as Petchtai Wongkamlao as Yam sings to Janet Khiew as Joei.

There is a music vid on Youtube for the film but unfortunately it isn't of that particular song.

I really do like the song you are referring to (if I am correct).

The film is a lot of fun.

But then again I may be wrong.

There is a Thai Pop song the name of which I don't know that has a very similar melody with the female singer singing in a kind of childlike way "La,la,la,la,la...la-la,la,la,la,la,la..."

I'm sure that was immensley helpful! :)

Thanks for the reply.

I just checked youtube for "Yam Yasothon" and they have the whole movie uploaded there in multiple parts - I watched part 10/11 and 11/11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhf8kIua2j0

That last song played at the end - although it does sound somewhat similar -is still, unfortunately, not the song I'm looking for.

I think with the song I'm trying to find - it's primarily the girl singing most of the way through, and I think the guy only sings a few small parts, then both of them sing one after the other during the chorus parts - as though yelling back and fourth as they repeat the main hook lyrics to each other?

It sounds like it could be your second suggestion - the "La,la,la,la,la...la-la,la,la,la,la,la..." thing, but, of course, it's hard to tell, haha. Yeah, I know how you feel, it sure is hard to describe songs like this without having exact words to go along with the melody. I appreciate your efforts, though.
