Cheap/free Phonecalls.

Featured Replies

I have spent a fortune making cellphone calls from Europe to Thailand. Skype is ok but if I want to call anyone, right now or to his cellphone, it will be expensive, actually even with Skype out, if you talk for 1-2 hours a day... And when you have a teenagedaughter with a Hong Kong boyfriend there are a few calls.... :-(

Then a friend came down and visited us while we were in Thailand, telling me that he called me everytime for free from his cellphone to mine... I didn´t believe him but since he is an tele-/communications consultant I had to ask him to show me.

I opened up an account at www.voipdiscount.com, put in 10 Euro, got an email with a local number to call (that you have to call before calling the country code, etc. Of course it can be automated.). After calling the local number, then put in a pause "p"and then just the number you want to call. Do it as a quickcall. You can simply call anyone, for free or for 1 Eurocent a minute for some countries. You have to put in each number that are calling in your account so I put mine, my wifes and my daughters cellnumbers plus our homenumber. The one that receives the phonecall, has the impression that we call from BKK or Hong Kong. The quality is the same as a standard call.

Basically, all countries, fix lines and cellphones are possible to call. It saved us alot of money!

Cheers!

PS. I am in no way involved in the company and there is probably a few others that provide the same service. However, I am happy with this one.

This site gives you 500 mins a month (50 x 10 min calls) to Land lines or mobiles for free.
