An easy question for the experts out there - I used to know the answer, but the grey matter has lost them somewhere along the way:

How long in advance can a UK visit visa be applied for - i.e. how long can it be postdated? - The wife, toddler and I are of to the UK for Christmas and the Mrs. needs a visa. As we live in Phuket, and work during the week, we need to plan the optimum date to submit the application in Bangkok. We will be going to the UK from 17th December to 2nd January - but may be able to make another shorter trip later in the year, before the six months is up.
