The Law Regarding Helicopters In Phuket

Featured Replies

Could anybody tell me the Law regarding a Farang or anybody for that matter having or owning an helicopter and importing it to be kept here in Phuket and using it to fly around, not business just pleasure for personal use

The one person that could probably help you would be the person who owns the new helicopter parked at a spot between Nai Yang and Sakhu (Sakoo). he seems to fly his every couple of days.

Sorry I don't know the name but if you really want to know I could check out if there is a sign board next time I'm passing.

This is a business not 'for pleasure' but I guess there wouldn't be much difference. Btw, I heard they have promotions at 9999,- thb. for a 30 minutes flight. Max. 6 persons/flight.

I would start by paying the air park a visit in Pa Khlok. I havn't been up there yet but I believe it's been open for a while now. They have a 500m runway (not that you will need one of those) and I think they will be building houses next to the runway so you can park your plane at the bottom of your garden. Oh how the other half live. If anybody knows the laws about aviation I would guess they hang out there. I think they have a bar and restaurant so just go and hang around a while.

Just found this, thought I had it somewhere: http://www.phuketflying.com/ That's where I would start.

Can't help you on any specifics, but there has been a pretty good sized white one buzzing over and around chalong bay the last few days.

There is no restrictions on farang flying or owning it. Import and keeping it I dont know, but its doable with planes so why not?

Hey thanks guys, that's why I thinks something different about owning a helicopter to owning a plane and also importing it here from the USA not that makes a difference, It would come here by boat maybe to Langkawi then fly it to Phuket
