LivinginKata Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 Tuesday, August 4, 2009 Blood urgently needed for Samui air crash victims PHUKET / SAMUI: Bangkok Airways is calling for blood donations of all blood types, especially from foreigners, following the crash at Samui Airport this afternoon of Bangkok Airways flight PG 266 from Krabi to Samui. The pilot was killed and a total of 34 people were seriously injured in the accident. Samui Airport has been closed following the accident. All flights to Samui are now currently being diverted to Surat Thani Airport, where alternative over-land transport is available for passengers heading to the island. Most of the injured are foreigners. Many of them urgently require B-Type blood. People wishing to donate blood in Samui can go to Samui Bangkok Hospital. Those in Phuket who wish to donate blood can do so at Vachira Phuket Hospital, which is located on Yaowarat Road (Tel: 076-361234. Ext: 1285), or at the Phuket Red Cross office at Srisuchart Village, Chalermprkiat Road 9 (bypass road), Rassada, Phuket.
