meadish_sweetball Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Since yesterday I don't seem to be able to use CAT's SMTP server. Anybody else affected?
niller74 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Would never use a Thai SMTP service. Half the time they are banned by recipient and the rest of the time they just don't work.
jackdanielsesq Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Setup a Google SMTP - works every time! smtp.gmail.com - port 587 BR>Jack
meadish_sweetball Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 Thanks for your tips. I already do use the Gmail SMTP as a temporary solution but would rather switch back. Guess I may have to call CAT support then, as it seems nobody else has the same problem. The reason I like this one is that I have used their SMTP without problems for 6 years already, so whatever issues there are with Thai ISP SMTPs don't seem to have affected this one - in my case at least. The positive side of using a local SMTP server is that it doesn't take ages to send emails with attachments. When I route stuff through Gmail, large attachments sometimes time out.
