Does anyone have any experience with shipping heavy things (via boat) outside of the country, particularly to Australia?

Any idea of the costs associated?

What I have is not extremely bulky in size but it is a couple of 100 kg's.

I have just shipped one cubic meter of goods from Pattaya to Brisbane. The cost in Thailand was 12,000 baht. It arrived in Australia in 4 weeks. However the cost to receive it in Australia was about the same as shipping it from Thailand. 12,000 baht to ship it to Australia and then another 12,000 baht just to pay the receiving costs in Australia and pay for the paper work.
