Thailand's Foreign Policy

Featured Replies

In my previous post re: Bill Clinton, I pointed out that, for a former two term US president to travel to North Korea and pay respect to Kim Jong-il was poor judgment.

My post was closed early on the grounds that it had no connection with Thailand, but can we be certain ... Clinton's wife "Hillary" the new US Secretary of State was recently in Thailand and asked PM Abhisit the current "Chair" of ASIAN expel Burma from ASIAN

However, Abhisit declined this suggestion since he is aware of the fact that such a decision (even if it was not passed) would seriously affect the relation between the two countries a situation Thailand most certainly tries to avoid since it has enough problems in the south, and does not want new problems in the North and Northwest

Due to Thailand's geographical position the proposition made by Hillary was wrong, and one has to ask the question who advised the US secretary of state to make such a proposition, could it have been her husband, as his wife she will no doubt listen to him, a former two term US president, and as a result the views, advice, and judgments of Bill Clinton might well affect Thailand.

you are welcome to discuss thailand's foreign policy, or the issue of ASEAN or Burma / Myanmar

however, if you plan on using this thread to discuss Bill Clinton, or Hilary Clinton, or the US foreign policy, then let me remind you this is the wrong forum for it.

So, depending on what direction the ensuing posts take, we shall see if the thread can remain open.

Cheers
