Was told by a friend if you can prove you are required to work by your company in Thailand, your wife ( mine is Thai ) can apply for citizenship bypassing the PR requirements ( i.e. having to live in Oz for a period of time first ).

True?

I think if it was possible word of this would have leaked through the expat community.

Having said that, I personally know 2 Brits who obtained Oz citizenship while overseas about 15 years ago. Their time spent working on an Oz Govt approved overseas contract was counted as time required for PR.
