My wife is comeing to the UK on a family visit visa and I wonderd about doctors, hospital etc, suppose she got sick in england would she be able to see a Doctor on the NHS or would she have to go private,?

Visitors to the UK are entitled to free emergency treatment at A&E, but anything else is chargeable. This includes any aftercare if admitted to hospital following an accident.

Even British nationals have to pay if they are not ordinarily resident in the UK.

See Eligibility for free hospital treatment under the NHS

I'd recommend some insurance.

Insurance is available on the UK/Vac site if you take a look.

Do you actually know his partners background ?

Have i missed something this is his wife we are talking about im sorry but the OP asked a simple constructive question.

Sorry - I was thinking that I was still living in the UK - but of course I have been in Thailand for two years. I have the 'free health' thing here - but you really need to work for it a bit. And then 'free' really is "free" - as in 'off the internet' - DIY surgery at home !

Always interesting to watch a friend cut into a small growth just below her nipple simply because it would cost a lot of baht to have it done by someone "qualified".

And what has this to do with a visa application the OP is entitled to ask the question and he has received a prompt answer.

No need to disrespect the guys wife.

No disrespect intended, but your user name translates as Knob End View?

:)

Im sorry but i really do not like a total show of disrespect to anyones wife.

Do we assume all female Thai Nationals are bar girls ?

Im sure most posters on the forum will agree with myself those comments are not required.
