1 Day Overstay

Featured Replies

I am not sure where to go and get something done or just show up at the airport. I got in thailand a little after midnight and the person used the earllier date. Any help or advise

If you leave Thailand afer 31 days you won't have much of a problem, presuming you have a ticket out of the country already.

The fine for overstay is 500 baht per day, but not collected if you overstay only 1 day and leave by air. They will put a stamp in your passport that says you had an overstay. But that has no consequences regarding getting back into Thailand.

If you want to avoid being on overstay you can go to immigration and get a 7 day extension for a fee of 1,900 baht.

By "the person" I assume you mean the immigration officer?

It is always a good idea to check the stamp just after you leave the immigration desk,

but I know it is a hassle at midnight and after a long flight.

One day overstay is not a big deal.

When does your flight leave?

If it is after midnight, you may well be checking in and passing immigration on the day before,

so there will be no problem anyway.
