Wii Console And Media Streaming

Featured Replies

Ok, i have need to turn my Wii Console into a media server device. I've looked into this and its possible to do so using TVersity and the Wii Web browser. My PC already has TVersity working (I use my XBox360 as a streaming device already) and happily recieve my media on my big TV from the PC using this method - i now need to do the same for my bedroom and have a 'spare' Wii kicking around

However, i dont have the web browser on my Wii - its something you need to 'buy' with the Wii points system (500pts).

Now i have looked around the net, and found that to buy Wii points you basically have 2 options,

1. Buy Direct from the Wii Shop.

2. Mail Order a Wii Points card from somewhere.

My questions are;

1. Has anyone sucsessfully converted their Wii into a Media Streaming device before? How was it? any issues i should be aware of?

2. Has anyone bought Wii points directly from the Wii shop before?

3. My Wii is a 'Bangkok Special' (i.e. Chipped) - Will this be a problem buying points?

4. Where can i buy a 'Wii Points' card from? I dont mind Internet Mail order but would prefer to goto a shop somewhere in Bangkok.

Thanks in Advance for any answers, links or suggestions :)
