Let me start by saying i respect everyones right to believe in their own religion. Topic came up today about the fasting season, and that muslims fast from sun up to sun down ( well, around there ).

That works fine in equatorial regions.... but

1. North Pole ( +artic circle ) = sun never sets this time of year - does that mean they starve to death ?

2. South Pole = sun never rises this time of year - meaning no need to fast ?

Just seems weird this was over looked. Does not seem fair ?

I guess this one will be closed pretty quickly as it has not much to do with Thailand.

Anyway, before they close it:

Im sure you know more about geography than that?

First, you probably know that there are not many living on the poles, right?

But, there are a lot of populated areas where the sun is up 24 hrs a day for 3 months (during summer), and not over the horizon for 3 months during winter time.

Can you guess where?

You already mentioned it.

:)
