This morning at exactly 5am I heard what were definately 5 quick gunshots, probably small caliber pistol, in the area near the old Plub Pla at the top of the hill on Patak Road between Chalong and Kata. It was probably just someone having some fun, but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything, maybe in the Thai media as the English press doesn't seem to care much about Thai on Thai crime here, if that's what it was. The quick succession of firing made them seem like they were fired with purpose. I was picturing another motorbike robbery or hit.

Probably squirrel hunting with a small bore rifle. I've seen them doing this in Chalong.

Quick succession.. So they use revolvers or semi autos for squirrelling these days ??

My FIL uses a shotgun for squirrels and hunts just as its getting light out.

Another thing to consider, one I have never seen myself but reported on by quite a few TV members, is that at parties, weddings etc, often some drunk person will pull out their gun and fire a few rounds into the air.
