Featured Replies

Hi members of THAIVISA,

I am just curious what you think about this.....except the usual nonsense with the Lotterynumbers at the end of the story in Phuket Gazette.

I have never heard that some jellyballs drop out of the sky like these....I heard of large frozen waterbombs from airplanetoiletts but that.......?

what is your explanation or assumption?

Some of the transparent balls that are said to have fallen from the sky onto a Phuket home at the weekend.

PHUKET: A family in Phuket had a close encounter with unidentified falling objects at the weekend when about a hundred small spheres 'dropped from the sky' onto their roof and garden.

The family of six said the transparent balls fell on their home in Wichit about 9am on Sunday directly after a rain shower.

“After the rain had stopped, we heard the sound of things falling on the roof,” said home owner 52-year-old Paweenarak Boonsiew.

Her son then went outside and discovered more than a hundred small, transparent balls on the ground.

The spheres each measure about one centimeter in diameter and are soft and pliable. They have no coloring and do not give off any odor.

Officials from the the Phuket Medical Sciences Center later collected some of the spheres for further examination, leaving the rest with Ms Paweenarak, who said she would keep them for good luck.

A spokesperson for the center told the Gazette that the collected spheres had been sent by plane to the Department of Medical Sciences in Bangkok.

“The findings will be announced as soon as possible,” said the officer.

The appearance of the balls has stirred much excitement among villagers, one of whom was tempted to chew one of the balls, before being reprimanded by Ms Paweenarak and told to wait for the results of the science center’s findings.

Many locals also see the event as a fortuitous omen and are making lottery predictions based on numbers surrounding the phenomenon.

Another gem from the Phuket media who 3 weeks ago were reporting about how a dead one eyed cat or something was a lucky omen and everyone was rushing to buy lottery tickets or similar.

I wouldn't recommend that they swallow after chewing.

Seriously though, they will eat anything.

Additionally, black balls bump Sonic down while transparent balls contain nothing.

moreover, that's inaccurate reporting.

If the things "dropped", they can't be "Unidentified Flying Objects", duh.

These plonkers should come up to Chiang Mai for a story. I saw Pixies at the bottom of my garden this morning but will reporters get here quick enough to see them before the Thai's in my village catch them and serve them up for dinner tonight?

There is nothing alien about them. Just looks like a load of balls to me.

But I have long suspected that aliens from another world have infiltrated the ex-pat communities in Thailand.

Below is a photo I took last month of an extremely suspicious looking character, in Immigration at Chiang Mai airport.

OK, so its common that balls dropping out of the sky these times? ....on my next day off I will try to find the family in Wichit and try to get one of these balls.....if they are not molten in the meantime :) s..1t I am really curious about this.

@ trainman, what are pixies ?

Clap hands if you believe in fairies.

Maybe the balls are filled with some super-toxic chemical weapon created by the Thai government, kinda like the stuff in the move "The Rock" with Nicholas Cage and Shawn Connery... The guy who chewed one is probably dead now.
