I just posted on a topic advising on the use of Virgin Coconut Oil

and the memory was refreshed on two clients in one week that had psoriasis:

both were coming to for relief of back pain

and for both the approach was: "what's that on your leg?, how long have you had it and what have done about it?"

the first a early 60s American Male - his answer was "psoriasis and I've had it for years and done all the meds for it"

slopped VCO on the skin inflammations by the time his appointment was finished - he commented on how it 'seemed' to look better

on the next appointment it definitely looked better

the fellow's back was not improving due to other health issues and as he was taking opiates for the pain

he discontinued therapy

the other client was a South African male early 50's - same approach

his answer was " psoriasis, I've had it for over 12 yrs, seen over 100 doctors and tried every medication"

slopped on the VCO - 15 minutes later they fellow was amazed - he hadn't seen his skin look so healthy and pink in over 12 yrs.

he continued his therapy and we saw more improvement in his skin

he was 'over the moon' on this cheap therapy and wanted to know why no one else had told him about VCO

he was advised on the therapeutic oral dose of VCO

his back was better, he finished with me, continued his holiday and returned home

so I did not have any folow up

both were advised of nutritional changes -- falling on deaf ears

but VCO did the trick -- available at Villa and Tops for under 300 baht 500ml

Amazing!

Is "Virgin Coconut Oil" cold pressed?

What about the "oral intake"?

I just been talking yesterday to someone who suffers for years... he left today...

Anyway I let him know!

Fish oil capsules work very well for psoriasis take at least 6 1000mg capsules a day.

You should also look at diet.

Psoriasis is a totally treatable condition with the right diet and supplements.

Google alternative treatments and you will be surprised at the amount of very good advice.

Hi Dr. I have had psoriasis since I was 10 yrs, now 55yrs, and still cursed by this horrible illness, luckily I suffer only slightly as some poor devils have their whole body covered. Anyhow to the point. A fantastic product that really works is SHAMPOO POLYTAR, you can buy it at any pharmacy, main ingredient is COLD TAR, my dear little 4 yrs old daughter has now developed it, so I thank you for your posting on the VCO, I'll rush down to Villa today. Also one of the best remedies is simply sun light, a swim in the ocean can also assist. I'll keep you posted on her condition.....john

Whilst it is good to have lotions and potions to apply topically in the long run you need to try and address the problems at the root.

Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition and attention to diet, lifestyle, vitamin therapy can really make a big difference to this condition and preclude the need in many cases for topical applications.

I am with Tolley on this one. Decrease pro inflamatories foods etc and increase anti inflammatory. Pay close attention to Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratios. Do all the basics. Stay well hydrated, get good sleep, don't drink or smoke, reduce stress thru yoga, meditation, Tai chi, exercise. Try sweating with sauna's/steams to reduce toxins in the skin.

Reduce or eliminate caffiene and other adrenergic receptor drugs like antihistimines which stress and damage the Adrenal glands. Throttling the adrenals puts the body in emergency mode whereby circulation is decreased to the skin and other less essential organs. Many a human has wrecked their skin health from over taxing the adrenal glands.

Try to be aware of contact allergens like soaps which could be stoking your inflammation.

Good luck !!

Do you think it would work with eczema?

no VCO does not relieve eczema by itself -- but is one of the ingredients in a protocol

like other posts have stated -- you must address the root / cause , inflammation, PH imbalance (get more alkaline)

diet is the main one

I have been using that product for nearly 40 years and it helps keep things at bay(for me). I feel that VCO would also help as I was prescribed that also about 35 years ago and I can still remember being made to go to bed with the 'gunk' all over my head ! :)

Good thread and I am sure it will assist people
