Voa/transit Visa

Featured Replies

Hi,

I tried to extend my holiday a new tourist visa at Penangs consulte a couple of weeks ago. Wich was obvisouly a big mistake.

Anyway, I got my first VOA (Visa On Arrival) when I came back from Penang, and sense then I been doing 2 VOA runs.

I made up my mind yesterday and booked a ticket back to Europe 10th of October. My VOA expires number 15th of September.

From what I understand, before you could get 90 days (30+30+30 three VOA runs in a row), traveling by the border countries. Is there any limit now when they changed it to 15 days?

and

Sense my VOA expires 15th this month, I figure it would be a good idea to apply for a transit visa on the 15th of Septermber, becouse I will go to Europe in less then 30 days. Can I apply for a transit visa? Where can I apply?

Or do you guys got any other ideas?

Thanks!

You appear to have a visa exempt stamp from an air arrival (VOA is 15 days only and only available for a few countries from a special counter at airports). There is no current limit on the number of entries but there seems to be a crackdown on tourist visa issue starting this week. If you have only been here a short period it probably will not effect your ability to obtain a tourist visa but might not be as easy as last week. You have to apply at a Consulate outside Thailand. Currently Vientiane is the best location.
