Just caught a bit of a program on BBC. A company is investing 18 BILLION dollars to make Macao the entertainment centre of Asia

With the Marina complex in Singapore it got me thinking, what has the Thai government done in the last 20 years to boost tourism? Five star hotels and higher quality restaurants not included as these are normal privately funded

On a positive note, it probably needs this sort of competition round the corner to make them pay attention and take steps to improve tourism.

For entertainment read gambling.

Funnily that was what I thought. Only 50% of the investment will be gambling related. Also it was quoted that only 40% of tourist go to Vegas to gamble a fact I find hard to believe.
