Which Visa "ed" Or "b"

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm going to Thailand in Jan 10, wondering which Visa is the best/easy to get.

I have my own UK IT company, I'm interested in exporting to the UK electronic items, there's an electronics market in central Bangkok (MDK I think), selling the type of items I'd like to export.

Ideally I'd like to find out which wholesaler they buy from.

Could I get a visa on this basis using my company?

What evidence would I have to supply?

The second part of my trip is to spend 4 - 6 months on Kho Tao taking diving courses.

For the "ED" Visa I understand that a letter from the course is required? The dive operators I've spoken to have mentioned a deposit, I'm a little wary of this as last year I paid a deposit on a very authentic website and was scammed.

Which would be the best route to get a Non-Imm Multiple entry?

With your comapny papers apply for a multiple non-B visa at the consulate in Hull. Call them to see what they need, but I think a simple letter from you will be enough.

An ED visa doesn't allow you to work and you can't get a work permit on it. On a Non-B visa you c get a work permit.

Thx Mario

Just called the Thai consulate, indeed a simple letter is fine, does it matter that I'm the Director of the company? Would it be better for the Company Secretary to sign the Letter?

It doesn't matter much, Hull is real easy.

It will not matter that you are a director of the company. Would suggest you get the company secretary to sign to make it look more of an 'arms length' transaction, but probably will not make any difference.

To work in Thailand you also need to get a work permit from a Thai based company.
