Featured Replies

:D Yesterday my wife and i go in a good mood to mukdahan for the non O visa extension on the basis of mariage.Whe are living in Sai-mun and registered in Yasothon.Every year i go to muk emigration and no problems.I have now about 3.5 weeks before my non o is finished.

I can do a last borderrun for 90 days. But whe like to have the extension now before they changed the law again.

Arived at the emigration office at 8.30 whe ware no 1.

I asked for a TM 7 form and they give me 2.All officers where verry friendly ,nearly extreme friendly.

I handed over my pasport and al required documents and papers.

:D The officer look in the papers etc,and confirmed every thing is ok.

Than the big surprise, Sorry but whe dont give you what you want. WHY i asked :D

You are registerd in Yasothon and for the extension you must go to AMNAT-CHAROEN.

THE RULES ARE CHANGED SHE TOLD ME.

And than the 2nd surprise, you go 1 day before your visa is finnished she told me. :)

Now i am verry sceptic about the last what she told me.

what can i do????? is she right or wrong.

thanks siriam, but what about the amount of days i have to go.

1 day before my visa expired or at least 3 weeks before?

She was wrong. You have to go to Phibunmangsahan. See here

Yes you can apply any time up to the expiry of your current stay. Always a good idea to go early in case of problems as you found out.

yesterday whe go to the immigration office in phibunmangsahan, they where verry friendly take my 2000baht and telling me sorry whe can not change,so no 100baht back.No problem i told them and smile.

The head of the office ask me why i not go to amnat charoen.I show him the list from the province and telling him that i have to come here,He smiled and told me that next year i go to amnat, the goverment go to close this one he told.

So i have to go back on 13 Nov.to take my extension.

Glad to hear that you got matters sorted. The areas covered by the immigration offices will undoubtedly change once the new offices are opened.

That also depends on the immigration office / officer that you approach. I was told by our local office that applications for extension (based on "O") are not accepted until within 45 days of when the current entry stamp expires. In other words, if you have more then 45 days valid stay, then don't bother to file the application until before then. The expiration date on the visa did not matter but only the last entry stamp.
