Train accident leaves five injured

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: -- A goods train crashed into a ten-wheel truck in the southern province of Prachuap Khiri Khan injuring at least five people on Sunday.

The train was derailed and the rail tracks damaged. The accident also crippled the train service in the south. Officials said it would take at least a day to fix the track before the service resumes.

The truck tried to squeeze past the train, according to local police reports. Two passengers in the lorry and three railway officials were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
