Are these available? I don't need an expensive Skype phone that talks direct to a wireless router - happy to go for cheaper option of plug into laptop.

Headsets also do the trick but are less portable for travelling.

Maybe plugin phones have been consigned to the Ark?

When I used Skype it worked great just with a standard (plug in USB) Microfone...

Mission accomplished - bought a near one for 650 baht at J&J Accessories (or was that R&R, can't remember) by the elevators on the 2nd floor (in case anyone else should search on Skype phone later).

Good place that Tuk.Com - had trouble coming out with wallet intact.
