Helping Monks / Helping Temples

Another thread got me to thinking about what we, as individuals, could do to help/assist both monks and temples.

On rare occasions, I do prepare food for the monks. When i visit temples -- one of my favorite pastimes -- I do contribute (sometimes rather generously) to the temple boxes.

But what could one do of a more personal nature, both to help an individual or group of monks, or to help a temple.

Your kindness on monks and religion are well praise.

As you see today many war and conflict misused the name of religion as tools

to get surport but in Buddhist mainly was a peaceful religion

which follow the middle path of life.

What is the meaning middle ? That we do something good and not asking

for return , no skin color difference, either human or animal are treated the same.

If you are talking to a monk you could ask him if there is anything he needs. There are a lot of things that monks need but are not allowed to ask for unless you first invite him to ask, other than asking immediate family. Could be something like shoes, medicine, a plane ticket etc.

If he asks you for cigarettes move on to the next monk.
