Border Hop At Sungai Kolok

Featured Replies

Hi, I will more than likely have to make a trip down to Narathiwat in the near future and as a 90 border hop is coming up too was thinking about the crossing at Sungai Kolok.

Has anyone done this crossing recently?

Anything to look out for or be aware of?

Thanks for reading, Andy.

you dont have to go that far.from had yai you can catch a mimibus from the bus station to ban padeng, its 55 baht each way or you can do the same going straight down past sadao to the border,am not sure of name of this border crossing.

Last time I did a Kota Baru to Narathiwat trip was October 1977. Taxi worked fine for me ex Sugnai Galok. Believe I had to walk across the bridge separating Malaysia from Thailand, not too far at all, and I was carrying a bunch of baggage.

Do not be such a sissy.Do it yourself.Get to Hatyai. From there you have 2 morning trains from Bangkok(1st around 5-6am,2nd 7.30am - often -late) to SongoiGolok, short ride by motocycle taxi and short walk to Malysia, then bus or taxi to KotaBahru.Be nice to Thai Immo officers. In Hatyai you have plenty of easy accomodation and very interesting night life - just in front of

the station.
