Anyone Know A Private Taxi/driver In Chiang Mai?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find a driver in Chiang Mai to drive 2 people to Chiang Khong (on the Laos border). I have looked online a lot, and I found a few transfer/limo companies. Some of the prices are outrageous (I know I should not have to pay 6000 baht for this trip), and some of the prices are very reasonable....but the websites just look shady, and I'm not crazy about giving my credit card info or making a bank transfer to some random company that could just not show up to pick me up.

I know that I could wait until I get to Chiang Mai (I live in BKK) and just ask around until I find a taxi driver who quotes a reasonable fare, but I will be under time pressure to get to Chiang Khong in time. So, I want to arrange transport ahead of time and have the driver pick me up as soon as I arrive in town.

Does anyone know a privater driver in CM? Or, a reputable company?
