October 4, 200916 yr This is a just a basic question for most of you out there with a yes or no answer or experiences to I plan on going from ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 to 9.10 but only have 2 questions when I use update manager and transfer over to 9.04 will all my files, photos, music still be on my hard drive. also will I have to go and get all of my extras to get things working you know like shockwave flash java etc. also I have many things from software sources from medibuntu also will i have to get all of those again to.

I am relatively new to Ubuntu, but I upgradced from 8.04 - 8.10 -9.04 without loosing any information or having to reinstall anything.
