:) near all train take 3 1/2 - 4 hrs (nit included the standard of ca. 20 min late) from Hua Lampang to Hua Hin. Wagon with fan (I guess 2. Class ca. 200 THB) can be during day time, but avoid travel during night time through rice fields around Ratchaburi with open windows. Mosquitos and insects will enjoy of you. Last trip 2 weeks ago BKK departure 19:30 train to Nakon Si Thammarat stop at Hua Hin is a night train with "pseudo" A/C cars. After departure they swicht of fan and only one A/C converter per wagon. If you want or not, they make you the bed and you have lie down - hope you don't sleep in HH - price 503 THB ..... better use bus blue/white at 160 THB plus Taxi to Southern Bus Terminal (ca. 3 hrs. or Van from Victory Monument ca. 200 THB (ca. 2 hrs.). Short: for fun YES otherwise NO and never.

I love travelling by train. Yes, it's slower than the bus but it's very safe and you get to look at the countryside. Take a book and something to eat and it's very enjoyable.

Why does a vehicle get hit on a level crossing? Unless you are deaf you can hear and feel the train coming when it is a kilometre away.

At night it has bright lights also.

In daytime it is large and easily seen by those who look. It comes along a track, it does not turn a corner suddenly and make a sneak attack.

No one can prevent stupidity.

:) Happy you smell the train coming as me .... I never had accident. It is also not question who is guilty or deaf, only that the railway crossings are not safe ...... accident is accident and it have certain hurts on both side.

YES simple thing could avoid stupidity and make it more safe for all !!! no more comments
