Foodstuffs In Case

Featured Replies

Hi all,

When arriving at BKK customs channels. Is there any specific no-nos regarding bringing foodstuffs in your case. i.e chocolate is ok but cheese not etc.

Is there a thai customs web site somewhere that lists what is ok and whats not.

p.s i am not bringing cigarettes or booze etc as i know they do crack down on that and all foodstuffs are for personal use.

cheers

Why don't u say what u are thinking of bringing, it might be easier.

And it's ok to bring cigarettes and booze up to a certain amount... I always buy both at the airport in japan. :)

Cheese is okay, I brought back several Kilos from Holland last year and had no problem. I think it's only booze, drugs, and cigarettes that are controlled.

Be aware that there is a clampdown on importing meat products. See link below.

Sorry wasnt being elusive.

packed stuff would be general foodstuffs like

cheese,

dried veg/scot lentils

cereal

crisps

chocolate

t-bags

etc

no meat products

I know most of this stuff can be bought locally (albeit double prices) but as i reside in Patts for lengthy time, i never have any luggage. Simply wasting 45kg on emirates every time. Thought id make use of my allowance.
