Double Entry Tourist Visa In Kota Baru

Featured Replies

Hi

We're UK and Dutch nationals. We're in Bali and want to spend 4 months in Thailand from November. Can we get a double entry tourist visa in Kota Baru or have they stopped issuing them? I keep checking the forum but there's no up-to-date info. We already have past single entry tourist visas in our passports from Penang which seems no go at the moment.Thank you.

Kota Baru can be a difficult place for people to get to, hence not too many reports. The only embassy I am aware of that will issue a double entry tourist visa in the region is Vientiane (Laos). A single entry tourist visa would give you 60 day entry, and can be extended at immigration for 30 days (fee 1900 baht). That still leaves you a bit short, but if you plan to travel you could do border run at the end and get 30 days visa exempt entry on arrival by air (or 15 days visa exempt entry at land crossing x 2 = 30 days).

Thanks for the quick response. We travel Asia all year and normally spend 6 months in Thailand but because we're coming from Bali/ Malaysia we need the best long term option from there [avoiding visa runs]especially as we have family visiting Thailand for 3 months at least so don't have time to do a Laos run.The idea is to get a double entry and this year my UK passport's nearly full [only had 4 years from a 10 year jumbo passport] so I'll have to get a new one in Thailand [again!] to add to the confusion..nightmare!

The maximum amount of time you can stay here on each entry into the Kingdom with tourist visa and extension is 90 days (60 days + 30 days extension). So you are going to have to do a border run at some point during your visit, even if you have a double entry tourist visa.
