Eva Premium Economy Seat - Buy Now Or At Check In?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have booked two economy return seats for myself and my wife with EVA from LHR, flying out late feb.

I am now considering upgrading to Premium Economy or even Bus Class, should I be able to afford it.

Undecided as to when I am likely to get the best deal on upgraded seats - either upgrade now, or be one of the first in the queue at check in ,and see what is available.

Does anyone know if these always sell out prior to check in, or can anyone else offer any other recommendations.

Cheers

If you want to upgrade to premium economy then you would be best to do it now as they will almost certainly be full in Feb.

Never upgraded to biz class at the desk before but I guess they will try to extract maximum $$.

eva gave me a free upgrade from econ/delux to buss class ( must have been overbooked)

anyhoo, I did not see much difference from one class to the other, but buss class window seat bin it narrower at the top ( next to seat) and some (((mine))) carry on bag got jamed in once the contents setteled. made leaving the plane a bit of a hassell.

the econ/delux is well worth the little extra money imho

I agree that you should book it now. Like someone mentioned, the premium class tends to fill up quickly. I flew with EVA earlier this year, and had booked a premium seat. When I got to the airport (in BKK), I decided to ask at the desk about upgrading to business. I don't remember the amount they quoted me, but it was absurd. It had to be more than if I had just booked business class in the first place.

There are only 63 Premium Economy seats in Elite Class so it is unlikely they will not be booked well in advance. I agree the extra cost for Preminu Economy is worth it for extra leg room. ( I am 6ft 3ins).

On my last trip to Thailand I was given an upgrade both ways Lhr-Bkk to Premium Business. Luxurious. Maybe I am a hansum man after all. :)
