Ive currently been working on a web site and i have noticed that the modified data does not refresh correctly in the web browser. I thought this was just a simple little issue but no! Here's what ive tryed to rectify the issue. Installed firefox (a new browser) deleted the cache data in the browser history, ran ipconfog /flushdns, added NegativeCacheTime value =0 to HKEY_LOCAL_MCHINES\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscahce\Parameters in the registry. Rebooted.

Still the same pictures and logos apear when i access the live which i have modified. Then i go boot up the main workstation and hit the link, and its loads up the same data. So i think hmm, this has to be an issue with the router. I reboot the router, I then try a new DNS setting and switch from auto to point to the true isp DNS server which i believe are 203.144.255.29 & 203.144.255.49 pri/sec. Reboot ---- Still the same. What is it? Where do i go from here im really struggling with this one people and I would call myself an advanced tecky. Oh and before you ask, I have called my brother in UK and everything there is how i expect it to be.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago.

Eventually, after trying everything - including blaming the hosting company,

I discovered a setting in my FTP Cute FTP (v8.3) program under Global Options:

a drop down menu with choices: for matching files:

prompt, overwrite, skip, rename, resume, numerate, use rules

Mine was set to "skip" ..

Reset to "overwrite" and the problem was solved.

Hope this helps!

Well thats does not seem to be the issue in my case. I use WinSCP to upload files and data to my *NIX server in UK. If there are duplicate copies in the receiving folder destination it will tell me. Also I know the page is displaying correctly because my brother has verified the page in UK.

When developing websites, I would recommend you to install the Web Developer Toolbar with Firefox, with that you can (amongst a million other things) disable cache completely, and that really is a must when developing websites.

Ive been developing web sites for about 20 years now. I have all the necessary and relevant tools to hand. My concern here is not being able to view live material that has been freshly created on the live sever.

It just so happens that i refreshed the page again today and several images are starting to appear now. This leads me to think that its a more

likely case that the True (ISP) severs are caching data and have a TTL expiry date for a fresh. A DNS caching web server. So what we are

actually seing is data stored from the past and not real time data.

That is very likely the issue as has been experienced by some members here. Some Thai ISPs seem to set their TTL to unrealistically long times. I believe True is one of them known to have long TTLs. Guess they figure it saves them a little on International bandwidth.
