Ubon Ratchathani To Mukdahan

Featured Replies

I did a search but the threads are a few years out of date, so I thought I'd ask again (sorry)

How much is a taxi likely likely to cost from Ubon Ratchathani airport to Mukdahan, and how easy are they to find at the airport?

The last time I flew into Ubon Ratchathani was '05 and I imagine a lot has changed......

Thanks for the help!

I have used Ubon airport a lot over the last 4 years and actually nothing has changed!

There is still a taxi firm on the left hand side just outside the arrival gate inside the terminal and it advertises cars and drivers to distance places like Mukdahan. Sorry do not know prices, but it is a 3ish hour drive I seem to remember, so i would guess about 1,500 to 2,000 baht. No competition that I am aware of so negotaiting is a bit of a one handed game I guess.

If you want to rent a car to drive yourself you will be looking at about 1,200 baht a day for a small car from Budget at Ubon airport - immediately facing you when you exit the arrivals gate (but only that price if you use the Thai Visa agency advertised in TV.com, otherwise it will be nearer 1,500 baht a day).

Why not fly to Nakhon Phanom, since it is much closer to Mukdahan? Maybe not on reflection - there is only a Thai Airways service (expensive) whereas Ubon has the cheaper Air Asia flights.

Unless you really need a car(TAXI) probably the best alternative is the AIRCON BUS SERVICE, frequent, economical and relaxing.Just get a taxi to the BUS DEPOT.Enjoy
