phibunmike
Around Ubon they generally appear on tables in front of small shops soon before any relevant occassion, such as NY, Awk Pansa, etc. Also extra little stalls are set up along the side of the road selling them. Cheers, Mike

Magoomba
I got some rockets from what I would call a local General store. They are a stick with gunpowder stuffed into a blue PVC Pipe with the top end closed off. The local police from the village did not like them and told us to stop. ballpoint
Find out when the next bung fai festival is on. Many of the villages to the north of Surin, in Tha Tum and Ratanaburi districts, hold them. You won't be able to buy one of the big rockets, but there will be a lot of stalls selling "little" ones. Jeepers the OP asked for fireworks, not bombs, you get that stuff in Chong Chom.
Dave the Dude
hi guys enybody knows where to buy fireworks in surin like rockets and fontaines and stuff for new year party There is a large stationery shop on the corner just past the clocktower near to the food market in Surin. I am honestly not sure, but I think I have seen fireworks sold in there. You may have a better variety if you go with your BKK idea. Dave
