PoorSucker
Does he work? If he works and makes 40.000 baht/ month or have 400.000 in a Thai bank account he can get 1 year extension at immigrations. It must be his salary or his bank account, joint salary or joint account. From Police order 777/2551 2.18 In the case of a family member of a Thai(applicable only to parents, spouse, child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse): Permission will begranted for a period of not more than 1 year at a time. (1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM) (2) Proof of family relationship (3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be dejure (legitimate) and de facto; (4) In the case of a child, adopted child or child of his/her spouse, the said person must not be married, must be living with the family, and must be less than 20 years of age; or (5) In the case of a parent, one of parents must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit of not less than 400,000 baht for expenses within a year. (6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year. Note: Two months first extension after that 3 months

PoorSucker
No it must be tax receipts for 40.000 baht/month. 400.000 in cash in Thai Bank account. If he starts saving now be sure that it is in his account, joint accounts do not qualify. Edited October 17, 2009 by PoorSucker
PoorSucker
He can also apply for 2 months extension at immigration for visiting his wife. If he can put 400.000 in a Thai account now, then after the two months extension he can apply for 1 year extension.
bailly
So the better option is probably go back to the UK for a non-immigrant O visit friend/family, if he can't save the 400,000 then?

Lite Beer
He can get another Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa from KL Malaysia. The 400,000 Baht in the bank would be a better option if he can do it . If not a new Visa would be the option.
PoorSucker
Yes, start with a two months extension and then of to KL and get a new 1 year non-O. Also be aware that if makes a border crossing just before his visa runs out, he will get another 90 days. So a 1 year Non-O based on marriage can be dragged out for 17 months. 90+90+90+90+90(bonus days)+60 day extension.
