I went to The Mall last week, and checked out the pool on the fourth floor. The people at the counter said it was 80 Baht per visit, but if we had an M Card it would be free.

So we went down stairs to look for the M Card counter. They said all we needed to do to apply was fill out the form - no cash required.

Is this true - a promotion card for free swimming pool access? Are there any fees I should be aware of, or any other catches (like needing to wear an expensive swimming costume or getting a medical certificate to go swimming)?

Also, how is the pool for general lap swimming - will it be chock full of adults and kids? Are Thais aware of the concept of swimming in lanes for exercise?

Thanks for any feedback :)

Curious, if you went downstairs to the M Card Counter, surely they would / could have answered your questions???

As for the swimming habits, kids generally don't stick to the lanes if any. I suggest you swim midday to avoid overcrowding.

Swim suits, yes I would imagine they are a requirement - it's not Pattaya Beach (no blue jeans and t-shirts).

Have fun!

Yes, free for up to 2 persons, and more than that pay half price. No extra charges but you must have proper swimsuits and a cap. All of which you can hire. Lap lanes are good to use. No problem.

I've only commented on the mall bangkapi,.. don't know about the rest but I'm guessing it's pretty much the same.
