pagallim
Had occasion to contact Martin Carpenter, the British Honorary Consul in Phuket today, as I needed a witness signature on some documents. Contrary to what the UK in Thailand website states, Martin will provide support documentation such as proof of income for retirement visas, “affirmation of freedom to marry” document's etc. Certainly it's the inference on their website that these kind of documents are only available be post or in person from the British Embassy in Bangkok. The criteria for support documentation such as original certificates remains the same. Martin's contact details are in the website, or PM me if you cannot find them. Old Croc
Pity the Australian guy doesn't offer the same services. For simple, but necessary paperwork such as that outlined above, I've been told a trip to Bangkok is the only way to get satisfaction. This fellow's office is in a flash resort, and it seems his only function is to attend social occasions on behalf of the Australian govt.
