Scott and Richard from Chiang Mai have a different agenda than the rest of the semi-finalists in the Ultimate Thailand Explorer Competition created by the Tourism Authority of Thailand: they're going to donate any prize money won to children in need through the Chiang Mai ToyRide and the nonprofit Give and Live. Scott Jones says it simply, "We have enough. They don't." The grand prize is $10,000. And even if they don't win, they've vowed to raise another $10,000 along the way.

The outcome is out of their hands and into the world's as online voting selects the final teams for five cities in Thailand: Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Koh Samui. Anyone can view Scott and Richard's one-minute of fun application video (careening down the hill into a lake in a monster Zorb Ball) and help by voting for them NOW and EVERY DAY until November 12 to keep the ball rolling! All voters can also win $2,000 worth of prizes in a lucky draw at the end of the current voting period, but must register with TAT and log in to vote. The more a person votes, the better chance of winning the prizes.

They have transformed one corner of the TAT competition into a charity cause. Richard Vader says, "Not only are we putting our money where our mouth is, we'll put their money where our heart is!" More information, voting instructions and a PayPal button for tax-exempt donations is online at http://www.thailandmania.com/here-is-how-you-can-help.html

Not wanting to cast stones at a good cause charity (I am being polite) but TAT involvement may raise some real questions on monies/accounting etc.

The TAT is not involved in anyway apart from giving the prize to the winners who have are the organisers of the Chiang mai toy ride, their past history and effects with this charity show good faith as to where the funds will end up.

Scott is an active board member of the Chiang Mai ToyRide. If he should win, he has pledged the prize money to the Chiang Mai ToyRide. It's that simple. No T.A.T. or other outside involvement. Thanks Scott and Richard, and thank you "Bazmlb" for the post.

Any questions about the Chiang Mai ToyRide should be able to be answered by viewing Chiang Mai Toyride (particularly the Past Events page), or feel free to send me a PM.

Please help support a worthy cause.
