Need A Tourist Visa

Hi Everyone,

I'm in Phuket and I need to get a tourist visa to avoid going out every 30 days.

Where is the easiest place to get one? It's easiest for me to take a flight to Singapore but are they OK giving out Tourist visas.

I hear some places are more willing than others. I could go to Lao if that was easier for the visa. I will need at least 2 visas

i.e. 2 x 60 day

Are they still free? Will I need to show I have $1000 to sustain myself?

Also do I need a return flight before I go and apply for the visa?

If so should this be booked 60 days ahead of my visa application????

So many questions! Couldnt this be made simpler

I got a double entry tourist visa this week in Vientiane, Laos

Are they still free? Will I need to show I have $1000 to sustain myself?

Yes, they are still free and there is no need to show any money

Also do I need a return flight before I go and apply for the visa?

If so should this be booked 60 days ahead of my visa application????

You don't need to have a flight booked to get a tourist visa in Laos

I believe that there are some restrictions on some Nationalities, but if you are European or American, no problem

hmmmm Checking the flights to Lao it's not cheap from Phuket.

Anyone got experience on the Singapore option????????

I realise I could take the train after flying to Bangkok. 13 hours of joy for the train alone!

Don't fly to Laos, fly to Udon Thani ... Air Asia.....tomorrow morning and get a shared taxi or bus to the border.

Taxi from the border to the Consulate, NOT the Embassy, try to arrive at the consulate before 12:00 to get your double entry Tourist visas the next day.

Singapore, single entry. Vientiane double entry and free. With extensions and border run in the middle you will get nearly 6 months stay.
